PR_ What’s the fuss is all about?

1918 (Railway poster – USA)
The accident might have been just right…miracle. I wonder what would Ivy Le’s viewpoint now if he was still alive up to this day? Would he praise the current advanced development of the profession or he would have already predicted how the future might unfold….Lee might not have received much positive credits for what he did….so was Bernays…the name ‘ The father of spin’ is not necessary my favourite.
Well these guys were not really my motivators for entering the profession, nor the glitz and glamours of clients’ countless conferences and events.
If I had my choice, event management would be the last resort, really. And consumer marketing would be less prominent.
In this market, unfortunately it’s aint like that.
Feb 2010 would mark my 2 years as a practitioner. 2 years would go by, not one day have I not thought about the day of institutionalization and professionalism for PR in Vietnam. Maybe one day. Maybe soon, or later. Who knows? Maybe it wont happen in my lifetime. It would be a bummer though.

Why do we bother telling others about us?
What makes a great compelling story?
Who would influence your decision making?
etc etc..
At the end of the day…..are we profitable? Can we make more money than the previous month/quarter/year?
These kinds of questions sometimes bother me, and my clients, people I work for…
What is PR truly is and what does it do?
This would be a quest of a lifetime if not of the entire industry itself.
